Who We Are
The Sunland Village East Foundation is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit public charity. As such, donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. We provide a way for individuals and organizations to make tax-deductable contributions for the benefit of senior citizens in Sunland Village East and others with needs in the East Valley.
Sunland Village East Foundation, also known as SVE Foundation or just SVEF, was founded as an Arizona non-profit corporation on August 15, 2022, and was recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It is an FTEE "code T31" Community Foundation, which is defined as:
organizations that make grants for charitable purposes in a specific community or region. The funds available to a community foundation are usually derived from many donors and held in an endowment that is independently administered; income earned by the endowment is then used to make grants.
In more condensed legal terms, SVEF is a public charity.
The SVE Foundation is in no way a part of the Sunland Village East HOA (Homeowners Association). They are two separate corporations, and they must not be interconnected. This does not mean the Foundation cannot grant funds to qualified projects within the HOA. The Foundation Trustees assess each grant request independently.
We cannot donate directly to individuals. We can donate to local 501(c)(3) charities that assist individuals, we can fund raise for and donate to them. We can advise SVE residents how to access charities for individuals.
